Chicken Lollipops (Fun Drumsticks with Big BBQ Flavor)

With the meat pushed down into a round shape and the bone cleaned like a stick, they not only look impressive but are easy to eat and perfect for your next cookout or gathering. - 8 Chicken Drumsticks
- 2 tbsp Chicken Rub (Chick Magnet or yrou own favorite)
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 bottle BBQ Sauce
Cut around the bone at the end of each drumstick.
8 Chicken Drumsticks
Remove skin and cartilage from the end of each drumstick.
Remove the small secondary bone and trim exposed tendons.
Push meat down to the base to form a round lollipop shape.
(Optional) Remove skin entirely if preferred.
Season all sides of each drumstick with chicken rub.
2 tbsp Chicken Rub
Wrap exposed bone end of each drumstick in tinfoil to prevent charring.
Melt butter in an aluminum pan and place drumsticks inside, meat side down.
1/2 cup Butter
Preheat smoker or grill to 300°F using indirect heat (fruitwood or hickory).
Place pan on smoker or grill and cook for 1.5–2 hours, until internal temp reaches 165–170°F.
Remove drumsticks, dunk each one in BBQ sauce, and transfer to wire rack.
1 bottle BBQ Sauce
Remove tinfoil from bones.
Return drumsticks to smoker for another 30 minutes until sauce sets and internal temp hits 175°F.
Remove from heat, serve, and enjoy!
